The National Zoo, with its over 400 different animals, is teeming with life. This huge attraction has 163 acres full of exotic animals. The National Zoo was built within Rock Creek National Park, creating a gorgeous backdrop for the animals.
If you’d rather just spend some time enjoying nature without the crowds and the animals, Great Falls Park is a gorgeous area in which to do so. With more than 800 acres of stunning trees and plants, the park lies along the Potomac River. Spreading a picnic blanket out beside the river and enjoying the day is a great way of celebrating and reflecting on life.
On the other side of the Potomac River is Old Town Alexandria. This quaint historical town is full of classical architecture, cobblestone streets, shops, museums, and restaurants. If your idea of celebrating life is quiet reflection surrounded by history, this is the place to go.
Glen Echo Park is where you can celebrate life via the arts. There are often live concerts, festivals, art and dance demonstrations, and even workshops you can participate in.
Another great outdoor place to celebrate life is the C&O Canal. You can rent a bike and take a fun ride along the canal, enjoying the lovely sights and relief from the busy, crowded city life.
Of course, you don’t have to do any of these things to celebrate life. Spending a day with your loved ones or just spending a day doing your favorite hobby can be a great way of celebrating life.
